Double Great Taste Stars for Mellow Yellow

We’re delighted to share that Farrington’s Mellow Yellow has been awarded two Great Taste Awards this year: one for our signature Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil and one for our Blackberry Vinaigrette dressing.
A Special Award for Blackberry Vinaigrette
The second star is one we’re particularly proud of. Our Blackberry Vinaigrette, created by Eli to mark 20 years of Farrington’s Mellow Yellow, celebrates two decades of farming, pressing, cooking and creating. Made with our cold pressed oil, blackberry, Cyder Vinegar, Dijon Mustard and spices, it’s a seasonal, vibrant dressing rooted in the landscape around us and packed with character.
The judges praised it as “very fruity with a silky texture… well balanced, well seasoned, with an enjoyable acidity,” noting that the blackberry brought “a slightly date‑toned flavour” they found “delicious.”
For a product created especially for our anniversary year, this recognition feels truly fitting.
Another Star for Our Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil
Our award‑winning Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil has been with us since the very beginning, so receiving another Great Taste 1‑star is a wonderful accolade. The judges described it as “a vibrant golden oil with buttery texture… fresh and clean on the palate” and “a classic tasting rapeseed oil, pure, simple, natural and flavoursome.”
For us, process is everything. Looking after the soil, caring for nature, regenerative farming, and pressing gently is the formula we trust the most. We believe that flavour is nurtured through patience and good farming practices, not additives, preservatives or production shortcuts. Their comments were testament to this, after all, what they taste truly begins in the soil.
A Moment to Appreciate
Awards aren’t the goal, but they are a welcome reminder that thoughtful farming and careful craft do matter. These stars belong to the whole team: from the fields where our rapeseed grows, to the kitchen where new ideas take shape, and to everyone who cooks with Mellow Yellow rapeseed oil at home.
