Using Mellow Yellow cold pressed rapeseed oil in the professional kitchen

Why foodservice partnerships matter – for chefs & for you

October 6, 2026

Growth only matters if your standards grow with you.
And for us, that belief has shaped every relationship we’ve built in foodservice.

From independent pubs to large hospitality groups, we supply our Mellow Yellow oil and dressings in large 2 litre and 5 litre formats – giving chefs the convenience of a great quality oil that offers great flavour, versatility and reliability in the professional kitchen.

We’ve supplied Mellow Yellow to Young’s pubs for almost a decade. On paper, it could look like a simple supplier relationship: forms completed, checks done, boxes ticked. But great foodservice partnerships aren’t built on convenience, they’re built on shared values, trust and ingredients that genuinely perform.

Young’s, founded in 1831, now operate more than 277 pubs across London and the South East. With that scale comes the need for consistency, but what makes them remarkable is how they’ve held onto character, craft and individuality. Their chefs care deeply about British food, seasonal menus and the quality of every ingredient they use, which is exactly why our British‑grown cold pressed rapeseed oil has earned its place in their kitchens.

Where great partnerships begin

In 2017, Group Executive Chef Matt Sullivan brought a team of Young’s chefs to the farm for a full field‑to‑fork experience. They walked the rapeseed fields, watched the pressing, and shared a Mellow Yellow‑inspired lunch. That day set the tone for everything that followed: curiosity, connection and a genuine interest in how ingredients are grown, made and used. Shortly after, Young’s switched all of their venues to Mellow Yellow cold pressed rapeseed oil.

In 2025, Head Chef Holly Tyldsley from The Dog & Fox in Wimbledon made that same journey. She explored the fields with Duncan, tasted the oil straight off the press, and connected deeply with our environment‑first approach. Earlier this summer, we joined her in her own kitchen to film her for our Chef’s Choice campaign, watching her cook through one of the busiest periods of the year, with Mellow Yellow playing a part in every section.

Shared values are what last

Convenience and price might start a conversation, they might even start a relationship, but shared values are what sustain it.

History. British food. Sustainable processes. Respect for the environment. An appreciation for ingredients, culture and quality. These are the foundations of every long‑term partnership we’re proud to have.

Young’s have redefined what the great British pub can be. And in return, they’ve backed us for almost a decade, letting Mellow Yellow work its magic across their menus to deliver exceptional food on the plate.

What this means for your home cooking

Our foodservice partnerships are more than industry milestones, they’re proof of what Mellow Yellow can do in the hands of chefs at the top of their game. If our chef‑approved cooking oil can handle the pressure of a busy Wimbledon service, a 1,200‑cover gastro pub or a high‑volume contract catering kitchen, imagine what it can bring to your own cooking at home?

Whether you’re roasting vegetables, whisking a dressing, frying Saturday‑morning eggs or baking a lemon cake, Mellow Yellow’s high smoke point, clean flavour and natural versatility make it one of the best oils for everyday cooking. It’s a simple way to bring restaurant‑quality results into your kitchen (without needing chef‑level skills).
