Heat up your BBQ to a high heat.

Place your lemons on the BBQ, cut side down. BBQ for 3-5 minutes until just starting to char.

Remove your lemons from the BBQ and put to one side.

BBQ your little gem lettuces, cut side down, for a couple of minutes until griddle marks appear.

Remove the little gems from the BBQ and arrange in a large serving bowl, charred side up.

To make the dressing, mix together the creme fraiche, garlic, salt, sugar, oil and all the juice from the BBQ’d lemon.

Drizzle your dressing over the BBQ’d little gems, sprinkle with sliced green chilli, if using, and serve.
