Smoky BBQ Beans
These delicious Smoky BBQ Beans are packed with rich, deep flavour thanks to the addition of smoked garlic, which gives the dish an irresistible BBQ smokiness. Made with two types of beans, this hearty recipe is incredibly filling and naturally high in protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals, making it a brilliant option for easy vegan comfort food or a nutritious midweek meal.

Fry the onion in 1 tbsp of rapeseed oil until softened.

Add the smoked garlic, chilli, smoked paprika, sugar, salt and pepper. Fry for a couple of minutes more.

Add the balsamic vinegar, kidney beans, butter beans and chopped tomatoes.

Simmer for around 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from the heat add serve with freshly baked sourdough, on toast with a fried egg on top, or with sausages and mash.
