Gambas Pil Pil – Garlic & Chilli Prawns

Enjoy Gambas Pil Pil with a delicious Mellow Yellow twist. These garlic and chilli prawns are a classic Spanish tapas recipe, made with raw prawns gently cooked in our Mellow Yellow Chilli Oil for bold flavour and a perfectly spicy kick.

Served bubbling hot with crusty bread to soak up the rich, garlicky sauce, this easy tapas dish is guaranteed to impress and brings authentic Spanish flavours straight to your kitchen.

Method

    Preheat the oven to 220°C.

    Give the Mellow Yellow Chilli Oil a good shake to mix up the chilli flakes and pour a generous covering (about 60ml) into an oven proof dish. Add the sliced garlic, the smoked paprika, salt and pepper.

    Stir well and put in the oven at 220°C for 6-8 minutes until the garlic is sizzling and has softened.

    Remove from the oven, add the raw prawns and give it a good stir to coat them thoroughly, then return to the oven for another 6-8 minutes or until the prawns have just turned opaque and pink so that they remain perfectly juicy and tender.

    Sprinkle with some fresh parsley and enjoy your prawns with plenty of crusty bread to dip in the delicious sauce.

  • 1/4 tsb salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Flat leaf parsley to garnish
